Articles are written in a professional style, with application to congregational or ministry leaders. Define any technical language or abbreviations and include practical examples, applications, or illustrations. Technical, research papers previously published in other journals may be rewritten to match the style of JFCM and published as a new article.

JFCM conforms to APA style. The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.) outlines the guidelines. Utilize endnotes rather than footnotes. Cite references parenthetically within the paper and include a reference list according to APA guidelines.

Manuscripts should be less than 30 single-spaced pages, 12 point Times New Roman font, 1 inch margins, written in English, and the author’s name removed (click here to see steps to ensure a blind peer review). Where available, URLs should be provided for websites the author would like to link to within the text of the article. Charts or tables should be included within the body of the manuscript at the appropriate location and should be appropriately labeled. Include a title page with the title and a 100-word abstract (the author’s name should not appear on the title page).

Include a Christian Leaders Summary with the body of the submission. The Christian Leaders Summary is a summary of the author’s main arguments or findings with one or more key implications for ministry leaders. It should answer the leader’s question, “How can I apply this to my ministry?” The maximum length for the summary is 500 words. To see an example of a Christian Leaders Summary, click here.

Authors of articles accepted for publication are required to sign a Publishing Agreement before the article can be published. Each author must also submit a high resolution headshot and a 2-3 sentence biography upon acceptance for publication.
